…until
January 2007, around 15 years after the birth of the first
964RS, after recognising the insatiable demand for perfect
examples of the M003 RS and the lack of RHD versions it is
with great pride that Ninemeister announce the launch of their
new 9m64RS, 9m93RS & 9m93GT2 M003 Clubsport range.
Built to order from any variant of the 964 & 993 (supplied
by customer or through ourselves) the build schedule begins
with dis-assembly of the vehicle to a bare bodyshell, whereupon
it is loaded onto one of our Celette body jigs for chassis
alignment checking and to have a factory Matter M003 cage
faithfully replicated and welded into the shell. Sunroof donor
vehicles have their roof panels replaced and any minor repairs
are carried out as required. Finally the additional seam welding
and reinforcements/brackets specific to the RS are added before
the shell is sent off for its anti-corrosion treatment.

…At
the treatment plant, stage 2 sees the rebuilt bodyshell heated
and immersed in acid to remove all traces of the original
paint, sealer, underseal and corrosion, cleverly leaving the
galvanising intact. After neutralising and washing the shell
is then 11 stage prepared before receiving a full immersion
electrophoretic surface coating. E-coating is the ultimate
zinc-phosphate based anti-corrosion treatment (as used on
current Porsche production models) which we specify to ensure
that your new 9mRS M003 is absolutely corrosion free and fully
protected from future corrosion attack.
With the shell back in the 9m Panelcraft workshop, seam sealer
is carefully applied (underseal optional) to RS specifications
before the entire shell is prepared inside and out before
it is etched, primed and painted its final colour. The customer
for the 9mRS #1 asked for GT3RS Carrera White which does look
fresh and stunning, but more usually we would probably press
you to decide between Maritime Blue and Signal Green
.
Once finished painted the shell is moved to assembly where
the rebuild process begins with the fitting of the reworked
lightweight RS wiring loom (we remove 7kg of unused wiring
from the standard loom). Fuel lines, brake system, suspension
and interior options would be fitted at this stage before
it is off to have its engine and tramsmission fitted, usually
incorporating one of 9m Racings extensive tuning packages.
Following dyno testing as required it is back into final assembly
for body panel fitting and interior trimming (not that there
is a lot of trim to fit in a Clubsport!).
The cost of the complete 9mRS M003 conversion process is £25,000
+VAT - which includes more than 400 hours labour, bodyshell
dipping & E-coating, paint & materials and the essential
solid roof panel. To complete the 9mRS M003 transformation
further parts will be required at additional cost, but since
every 9mRS is built to order it is up to the customer to choose
their preferred specification from our extensive options list
which for the 9m64RS include:
