We always use genuine parts where possible and also high quality race parts as a substitute if the result is deemed more favourable for our customers. For example, 9m have found that you can improve braking performance by 20% by using certain aftermarket brake pads without increasing the disc wear substantially. Whether your Porsche needs a full engine build due to its age, or maybe due to engine failure etc., 9m can help you here. With our fully trained staff who are experienced in rebuilding engines to an incredibly high standard, we can return your engine to "as new" condition and in many cases "better than new" condition with the availability of parts which offer higher tolerances and better wear characteristics than the originals - thanks to newer technologies.

Before the rebuild process begins, each engine is stripped and inspected to see if the cause of failure is as it would first seem. Many engine builders may rectify damaged engines with replacement parts -only to find that the engine fails a second time due to a lack of awareness of the cause. By careful inspection and experience, we are able to determine the cause of failure before proceeding with a build, and we relay this information to the customer to keep them fully aware of the situation during the build process.

If you are experiencing difficulty shifting gears despite oil changes, then your Porsche may be in need of a gearbox overhaul. Difficulty in changing gear, or if the shift lever jumps out of gear while driving, tends to point to worn syncromeshes . These help the gears to engage smoothly and are usually made of a soft metal such as brass which means that they are more likely to wear than the steel gears. If a gearbox has not been regularly serviced, then the oil becomes contaminated with metal particles which can increase wear of the gearbox bearings. the result is a noisy gearbox which generates more heat which in-turn causes more wear to occur. At 9m we can rebuild your gearbox to its original spec using genuine Porsche parts, or if you prefer, we can offer alternative gear ratios which will enhance your driving experience. One things is for sure, your rebuilt gearbox will be better than new !

For the owners of Porsche models fitted with a turbo, 9m can recondition your tired turbo and restore the performance to your car. Symptoms of a failing turbo are: Blue Smoke from the exhaust, louder whistling noise coming from the engine bay while engine is under load, increased turbo lag or a loss in power. If you experience any of these symptoms then feel free to call us for an informal chat and we will do our best to steer you in the right direction. We can even upgrade your turbo and in this case would recommend that you contact our racing department

9m can improve your Porsche with quality aftermarket upgrades to the braking system and the suspension. Whether you want to replace worn components or upgrade to higher spec race parts, 9m is always able to advise and assist. We can offer full suspension upgrades using KW suspension which we feel will help you to get the very best out of your chosen Porsche model. Improvements include: higher corner speeds, a car that is more forgiving on the limit, better bump steer control and lower ride height to improve appearance too. Once the kit is fitted then we will set the wheel alignment geometry to suit your use - whether its road with the occasional track day or just fast road driving in all conditions etc. To compliment the suspension systems, we offer brake upgrades, from pad and disc upgrades to full caliper and disc combinations by manufacturers such as Brembo and AP racing. This will ensure that your car not only handles well but is able to stop you properly if you reach your limits !

The Ninemeister workshops are fully equipped with a Hunter DSP 600 4 wheel alignment system which is used by all the Porsche centres across the UK and Europe. During the course of ownership, the average Porsche will be subject to all sorts of road surfaces and conditions which result in the suspension geometry being either knocked out of alignment or, gradually drift away from the factory settings due to wear of the components. 9m can check your suspension for wear and adjust your vehicles camber, toe, caster and turning radius settings for all makes and models.
