Massive Steel Brake PCCB Replacement Conversion in Testing
These shots show our latest 9m braking innovation for GT3 owners. We decided we needed
a replacement for the expensive and short lived Porsche Carbon Composite Brake rotors for owners who use
their cars, driving them to circuits such as the NordSchleife and therefore covering 'GT' miles.
Steel brakes were an obvious answer so we selected an endurance racing component of
sufficient size and with the correct characteristics for powerful braking and married it to a custom made 9m
designed custom bell to carry it.
The pictures show the rotor and a prototype in place on Marc's GT3 whilst testing.
We make no apology for the dirty car, it is winter. Note the Ray's alloy and Toyo tyre -- we use what we sell!
Recent sad loss of much loved and respected colleague Miles
Carter
It is with extreme sadness that we must report the untimely
death of Miles Carter, aged only 40. Miles was with ninemeister for many years;
a talented individual whose dedication and skill commanded the respect of his
colleagues. As was only fitting 9m closed to pay its respects to Miles:
Apologies to anyone who might have tried to contact us in vein at the time.
It is fair to say that we have been somewhat subdued of late
despite the marvellous range of activities ongoing at present.
If anything can be learned from this tragedy it is that life
can be very short indeed.
New Web Site
We have had something of a hitch with our website recently and as is the case
when something is intermittently defective we decided to rip it up and start
afresh. If you’ve encountered our holding page recently this is why.
However, in a best foot forward manner we are pleased to
introduce the new 9m site. We’ve attempted to add more articles and news and
less filler – so that you can keep up with our activites on the road, on track
and in the workshop.
Recently we’ve been somewhat quiet (depressed? see article
above) but watch this space as we move onward and upwards.
GT3 Action -- Marc at the 'Ring
Actually we have to admit that on this occasion the event was a damp squib. The heavens
opened and stayed that way and frankly a submarine would have been more appropriate than a GT3.
Which is a shame because Marc had gone to great lengths to prepare the car to improve on his
already impressive bridge to gantry time (not a full lap) of 7:50.
The car was and is running improved brakes, new superlight Rays Volk Wheels
and tuned KW Variant3 suspension and 9m tweaked roll-bars. Soon it will have our new 380mm Steel Rotor upgrade --
where better to put it to the test than the 'Ring!
9m Racing to power new Singer Recreation
A recent enquiry for 9m racing engine parts led to 9m's Colin Belton
spending several frantic days in California. Arriving at 5PM on Monday evening Colin spent most of the next
72 hours building an engine for installing and tuning it and then helping build the Singer Recreation
which recently debuted in the Californian Pebble Beach AutoShow and at Laguna Seca Raceway
Initially 9m racing were supplying parts only but a desperate call from California
had Colin on a plane and ready to help create the Singer. The car was due to leave the workshop on the
Wednesday evening. Colin arrived on Monday evening and experience told him the deadline was a bust.
Working at maximum pace Colin and the Singer team managed to have the car ready for 6:30AM, the day of the show!!
Fortunately the car was a hit and subsequently Singer have asked that 9m racing supply the
engines for these $200,000 Porsche cars and look after Singer Europe in the future.
9m redesign of troublesome centre shaft bearing;
Porsche Boxster and 911 996
Porsches are marvelous cars without a doubt and are subject to thousands of hours of
testing prior to going into production. Inevitably however even Porsche can get it wrong and it appears they
certainly have done with the centre shaft and bearing used on Porsche Boxster and 996 models given the number
we have seen fail. Help is at hand however; 9m Racing who more normally develop and manufacture
sports components are producing a much improved shaft / bearing assembly which will cure this troublesome issue.

This car is fast!! It is a
bespoke creation fashioned by Marc and the team in 9m panelcraft and powered by
9m racing. For good measure 9m technic have equipped the car with a custom KW
set up and massive 9m custom brakes to provide a beautifully balanced package.
At present it has around 430 normally aspirated hp. Guess what -- it is going to get more – moving up to 460 hp NA, with 9m’s latest camshaft and valve train products.
What’s perhaps even more special is this car is unique in specification yet still a usable, reliable road and track weapon.
Porsche Club GB Meeting at 9m
9m recently hosted a gathering of approximately 80 Porsche Owners at our premises in Warrington. Both Porsche Club Members and others were in attendance on what proved to be a relatively warm autumnal evening.
On display were a number of fabulous Porsches including a 1971 911T restored to concours by Marc and his team at 9m panelcraft and a 904 recreation owned by Phil Moore. This recreation replaces a long ago owned genuine 904 which was sold relatively cheaply because reputedly it wasn’t too handy when going fishing! Ah the benefit of hindsight is a marvellous thing.
Visitors toured 9m seeing the 911 Martini Turbo enjoying full restoration prior to being placed in a motor museum, a 993 complete with new Rays Forged Wheels, KW Suspension and geometry set up ready to ship to Sweden and several GT3s in various states of being tuned. Sarah and Haley arranged catering for the event and a good evening was had by all.
9m goes 'Down Under'
9m has extended its sphere of influence by selling 9m race engine kits to builders in Australia.
This marks the start of 9m’s official move into the Asian marketplace in something of a
reversal of Japanese tuning products coming to Europe. 9m has already shipped engine kits to China and Hong.

9m in Hong Kong
9m racing ship engines parts all over the world for tuners to build into engines for their customers.
The process usually works extremely well; however recently a complex kit shipped to Hong Kong caused much
consternation for the tuner when they could not set the engine up properly. 9m racing’s Colin thought a trip to the
ex colony was on but as a last ditch effort prior to buying an airline ticket decided to try and talk the tuner in!
Amazingly it worked and a 9m racing engine was tuned remotely to produce a healthy
(and as expected) 455 hp!!
