About 9m

The expertise at 9m is such that when we want more engine power if the parts do not exist then we will design and then create them from billet. Our knowledge of automotive construction is such that we can and do create unique Porsches. We have a reputation for caring for and improving Porsches and we have created some of the fastest and most reliable tuned cars, amongst the older air-cooled models but also the newer 996 and 997 variants and we are currently building a Unique 996. Our upgrades balance power, handling and braking to ensure speed, useability and safety.

The Partners

9m or NineMeister in full is run by two partners, Colin Belton and Marc Clowes, both expert in their fields of engine design and vehicle construction respectively. Both are more than a little obsessive when it comes to performance and repeatability, the building blocks of best practice and quality, qualities that underpin everything 9m does.

9m simply couldn’t have achieved growth with the partners working in isolation so Colin and Marc have surrounded themselves with enthusiastic, dedicated, professionals who share the same underlying values and competencies.

The Team

The team overall comprises a mature, time-served team of technicians with a particular fastidiousness and attention to detail that has lead to them working on supercars

Team members have had illustrious careers, Robin for example has previously split his time between working for Formula One and Can-Am Teams, having worked for the likes of Fitipaldi, Lotus and Williams.

As well as an enthusiasm for performance cars members of the team have other passions; Paul Redwood our General Manager is a walking archive of Porsche Part Numbers and component specifications and despite Robin’s racy career he is also very fond of Daleks – well who isn’t!

Colin with Woody

Colin Belton -- Partner

Colin Belton is the founder and now one of two partners in 9m. After studying OND Mechanical Engineering at Warrington Technical College he continued his studies at Liverpool University obtaining a First in Mechanical Engineering. After a successful period in process design and engineering Colin established his first business in 1992 and 9m in 1996. Colin is the meister behind engine design at 9m at home with thermodynamic calculations and port theory. He also enjoys sprinting his 993 RS CS culminating in Porsche Sprint Championship Outright Wins in 2006 and 2007.

Marc Clowes -- Partner

Marc Clowes is an Expert in Vehicle Design and Repair and responsible for the panel work and chassis componentry of the 9mRS and 9m Unique® vehicles. He is one of two partners in the business and is the driving force and expertise behind 9mpanelcraft. Marc studied Design Engineering at Morland Rd Technical College before a stint at Staffs Polytechnic. In the late 1980s he was already immersed in custom car creations before going into business for himself in 1989. Marc very enthusiastically campaigns his 911 996 GT3 RS on track days with the ’Ring being a favourite venue. He joined 9m in 2002.

Paul is definitely on something good

Paul Redwood -- General Manager

Paul has had a long and successful career in the Porsche fraternity working for a number of Porsche Main Agents between 1986 and 2007. In both 1996 and 1997 Paul was Porsche Parts Man of the Year. Though his career has largely been forged in management of Porsche Parts Sections he has also held senior roles in After Sales and even had successful stints on the dark-side working for Mercedes and Ferrari and running his own business. Paul is well known for his care of customers and their cars so it will relieve all to hear that his record of 195mph in a Porsche set at MillBrook was in a factory 993 Turbo4 designated for the purpose. He brings his cornucopial Porsche experience to 9m and joined in 2007 as General Manager.
